Prepare this delicious frozen maple-pecan nougat recipe, sweetened with pure Quebec maple syrup. Maple syrup is a great replacement for sugar!
Ingredients (6 servings)
- 125 ml pecans (1/2 cup)
- 250 ml maple syrup (1 cup)
- 4 egg whites
- 375 ml cream 35% (1 1/2 cup)
- 45 m l maple sugar (3 tbsp)
Instructions
- Preheat oven at 175oC (350oF).
- Roast pecans in oven until golden. Keep away.
- In a pan, boil maple syrup on a mild fire for 4 to 5 minutes.
- Beat the egg whites until firm and fluffy. Add hot maple syrup and whip for about 10 minutes to cool down the mixture.
- Whip the cream. Add delicately the egg whites. Add the pecans.
- Pour in small buttered individual molds. Place in freezer for 8 hours.
- Moment to serve: unmold by previously briefly dipping the molds in warm water.
- Serve quickly. Garnish with orange slices, mango and berries.
*You can replace pecans by other kinds of nuts or dries fruits.
