Chicken With Ginger and Maple Syrup


Prepare this quick and easy maple syrup and ginger chicken recipe! Use our pure Quebec maple syrup for optimal taste.

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 10 ml vegetable oil (2 tsp.)
  • 625 g chicken breast or thigh strips 1x lb.
  • 75 ml all-purpose flour (1/3 cup)
  • 125 ml maple syrup (½ cup)
  • 30 ml cider vinegar (2 tbsp.)
  • 10 ml fresh ginger, grated (2 tsp.)
  • 30 ml soy sauce (2 tbsp.)
  • 30 ml dry sherry or cider vinegar (2 tbsp.)
  • 2 cloves garlic, peeled and chopped
  • 2 ml pepper (½ tsp.)



  1. Preheat oven to 160oC (325oF).
  2. Heat oil over medium heat in an ovenproof skillet. Coat chicken pieces with flour and cook 5 minutes or until thoroughly browned on all sides.
  3. Blend maple syrup, vinegar, soy sauce, sherry, ginger, garlic, and pepper together. Pour mixture over chicken pieces.
  4. Bake 5 to 10 minutes, depending on size of pieces, or until drippings are clear.
  5. Serve with mashed potatoes and kidney beans, if desired.
