Spare Ribs with Maple Syrup

 

Cook your own homemade ribs with this delicious BBQ and maple spare ribs recipe. Try them with our pure maple syrup for optimal taste!

 

Ingredients (4 servings)

  • 1 kg (2 lbs) spare ribs
  • 500 ml (2 cups) maple syrup
  • 30 ml (2 tbsp) ginger, minced
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) soya sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 60 ml (1/4 cup) sesame oil
  • Tabasco or chilli peppers, to taste

 

Instructions

  1. Fill a large casserole with salted cold water and boil the ribs for 45 minutes. Set aside.
  2. In another casserole, mix maple syrup with ginger, soya sauce, garlic, sesame oil and Tabasco (or chilli peppers) and boil for 5 minutes.
  3. Preheat barbecue on high.
  4. Drain ribs from the casserole pot, pat dry and baste with the maple sauce.
  5. Reduce barbecue to low and grill ribs for 6 minutes on each side.
