Maple Chocolate Delights (Chocolatines)

Flaky pastry
1 Egg
3 tbsp of Milk
4oz of Dark chocolate
4 tbsp of pure Maple sugar


Preheat oven to 200º C (400º F). Roll out the store-bought pastry. Beat 1 egg with 45 ml (3 tbsp) of milk and brush on pastry. Divide pastry into 4 squares, then spread 30 g (1 oz) of finely chopped dark chocolate and 15 ml (1 tbsp) maple sugar on each square. Fold diagonally and brush with the remaining egg wash. Place the chocolate pastries on a wax paper covered cookie sheet. Bake on top rack for 20 minutes.
