Maple syrup : a few figures
In 2009, Quebec accounts for 77,3% of the world's total maple syrup production. The remainder comes from the north-eastern United States 18,1% and the other canadian provinces 4,6%.
In Canada, Quebec is the main syrup-producing province, with 90,8% of the national total; the remaining 9,2% is produced in Ontario 5,4%, New Brunswick 3,5%, and Nova Scotia 0,4%.
Quebec also continues to be the leading maple products exporter of total export sales.
